Welcome to the new academic year 2016 - 2017

All the children have settled well into their new classes and are focused and ready to learn.

The next parents evening will be during the Spring Term, dates will be confirmed nearer the time and letters will be sent home.

If for whatever reason you cannot make parents evening, please speak to your child's class teacher who will be happy to arrange an alternative meeting date at their convenience.

All of our staff work closely together to ensure that the transition from year to year runs smoothly.

Children in Reception and KS1 spend break and lunchtimes together, thus building relationships with staff and other children. In the summer term Year 2 children join KS2 at break and lunchtimes to develop these relationships further.

Staff in different Key Stages spend time together observing lessons and assessing pupils progress to ensure that the pitch of leraning is appropriate right at the beginning of the year.

Behaviour and reward systems are currently being reviewed so that all classes follow the same procedures.

In the summer term children visit their new class teachers for a day.

Year 6 children spend two days at their allocated secondary schools on the set transition days. Extra visits can be arranged for children with additional needs following discussions with the school SENCo.
